First and foremost….

Welcome to the beginning of something. I’ve dedicated more than 25 years of my professional career to Dynamics ERP. It all started with Great Plains version 5.0 in 1999, but blossomed quickly from there as an end user / staff accountant hungry for learning more about financial systems. Back then IT reported to the CFO on the org chart. Great Plains and other application support was done somewhat painfully over the phone without screenshare capability so was frequently done in-person and on-site. Btrieve had to be migrated to SQL. Windows 2000 was an almighty thing when paired with a new desktop and plenty of RAM. We migrated off Novel. Siebel, too, I remember playing around with back in the day. My we’ve come a LONG WAY!

Times have changed dramatically in ERP since then, and I enjoy being along for the ride, learning, sharing, providing influence an insight wherever possible. I’m grateful for all the knowledge and experience gained supporting hundreds of SQL, Dynamics GP, Power BI and Business Central customers through implementing, maintaining, integrating with, reporting on and resolving issues over the years.

I love what I do and what the future holds for Dynamics ERP!

So much so that I’m excited to be sharing my own content through my new Mindset Blog and the accompanying TheDynamicsMindset.com site. I am not a business, and don’t want to be. This is just my own way of continuing the long tradition of helping each other in this Dynamics community, like so many great people in the Microsoft Business Applications space who came before me, and continue to help me to this very day.

I’m grateful should this experience or these insights be helpful to you on your journey…until next post!
